This training is suitable for competent shooters, and safe weapons handling is vital. Students will learn the theory of low-light tactics, along with techniques for using both handheld and weapon mounted lights. The training will focus on how the environment and conditions dictate the tactics and methods. Decreased visibility increases the difficulty of threat identification and the importance of using cover. A demonstration of various tactical lights will be given along with an object identification exercise.
Students have the option to train with only their handgun or both handgun and carbine. Class times will span both daylight and nighttime hours so students will have the opportunity to practice the skills and tactics during the daylight before applying them in a low-light environment. Low-light scenarios will provide opportunities for students to apply identification, movement, and cover skills.
Students should have established fundamentals and weapons handling skills. Adherance to safety protocols is mandatory. For the safety of all participants, major safety violations or uncorreted minor violations will result in removal from training.
